A Alemanha foi e continua sendo uma das principais nações exportadoras do mundo. Seus principais parceiros comerciais não são apenas os EUA e os membros da União Europeia, mas também os países que compõem o chamado BRIC. Nesse contexto, existe um relacionamento especialmente próximo entre as economias alemã e a brasileira.
