Broward County’s Port Everglades has strong trade ties with Latin America, which are anchored by the port’s geography, performance and strategic growth.
Situated in the heart of one of the world’s largest consumer regions, the South Florida port serves a market shaped by approximately 156 million visitors to Florida each year and more than 6 million residents living within a 100-mile radius. Notably, 80% of the port’s trade stays within 80 miles, a powerful indicator of consumer demand.
The port’s globally recognized operational performance reinforces that advantage. Port Everglades is in the top 20% container ports worldwide, according to the 2024 World Bank and S&P Global Market Intelligence Container Port Performance Index (CPPI).
