Under the patronage of the Minister-President of the German Federal State Baden-Württemberg, Winfried Kretschmann, the Business Association for Latin America invites you to the 74th Latin America Day, October 12th and 13th, in Stuttgart.
Since our last meeting last year, Latin America has moved even more into the German and European focus. The current geopolitical situation in the world is promoting the repositioning of some countries and calls for new approaches that address the problems of the day in a timely and forward-looking manner.
The very volatile times also bring various challenges for many companies. Diversification, digitalization, shortage of skilled labor, transition in the field of energy, new challenges in supply chain management, these and many more are areas that require strategic solutions and are keeping companies very busy today in addition to their business. The changing relationship between China and Europe also means that Europe is increasingly looking for new partners. Latin America can play an important role here, as it is an emerging region with great economic potential. However, relations between Latin America and Europe are also characterized by challenges.
This raises the question of how the regions of Europe and Latin America relate to each other and how they fit into the global political structure. How do institutions and companies assess the geopolitical situation and how do they position themselves strategically? What different perspectives are opening up on the changing world order and the accompanying trade challenges? What ideas are there today for a bi-regional policy that can strengthen trade and economic interests in an interdependent world? These and many other questions will occupy us on both days of the conference.
As the guest of honor of the 74th Latin America Day, we welcome H.E. Dina Boluarte, President of the Republic of Peru, to the traditional gala dinner.
The motto of this year's Latin America Day is:
Let´s go Latam! Wann, wenn nicht jetzt! - ¿Si no ahora, cuando? - Quando, senão agora! - if not now, when?!

With the Gender Forum, we would like to give the floor for the first time to women in particular and have them present to us from their perspective the status quo, developments and trends in both regions and in different sectors on the topic of equal participation and opportunities.
Second conference day, October 13th 2023
Current Geopolitical Situation - Entrepreneur's Perspective on Latin America
The current very volatile times bring diverse challenges for many companies. Diversification, digitalization, shortage of skilled labor, transition in the energy sector, new challenges in supply chain management, these and many more are areas that require strategic solutions and are strongly occupying companies today, in addition to their business. In this context, and in view of geopolitical developments, some emerging markets are also increasingly coming into focus. Latin America generally offers good conditions and yet is often still given too little attention. We will show alternatives and talk about the current developments in the following markets: Brazil, Mexico and Peru.
In the forums we want to address the following topics: Brazil - Experience Reports: now and for upcoming years; Mexico - Nearshoring Opportunities and Peru - Perspectives and Expertises.
In a panel, jointly organized and conducted by LAV and BMWK (Federal Ministry for Economics and Climate), we will link this year's LAT with the BMWK's Foreign Trade Days and focus on the topics of energy and raw materials.
Business speed dating
Also this year we would like to offer you the opportunity to arrange in advance for a B2Bmeeting with the attending representatives from German business, institutions and politics. Take the chance and exchange ideas with Latin American ambassadors, LAV commissioners and managing directors of Foreign Chambers of Commerce on your topics. Meet new companies, network actively, get first-hand information and thus comprehensively deepen your knowledge of the region and its markets.
Be there! Don't miss this opportunity to meet, talk and exchange ideas with the community of people interested in Latin America!
